ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORT

Seva Accessible Transport provides fully accessible transport services staffed with qualified drivers and passenger assistants to pick up and drop off passengers.

Seva Accessible Transport serves to provide quality, affordable accessible transport. We have a fleet of adapted wheelchair friendly, fully accessible vehicles for individuals with mobility issues who find it difficult to use public transport. We can provide a range of services thanks to our dedicated team of fully trained drivers and passenger assistants.
All our drivers and passenger assistants are fully trained professionals who understand the care requirements and importance of customer service with a smile.​
Whether its transport to your day care centre, shopping trip or hospital appointments we will be happy to discuss and provide transport based on your individual needs.
Our accessible vehicles are fully adapted to support those with limited mobility or physical disability.

PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme) Training Course

What is PATS?
MiDAS PATS, is designed to make appropriate training, assessment and accreditation available for voluntary sector organisations, local authorities, care providers and educational establishments.

The Community Transport Association operates MiDAS thoughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, under licence from Hampshire County Council which initially developed MiDAS and operates the scheme in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton.

PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme) Course Contents:

Module A: The role of the passenger assistant :
This is the foundation module for all passenger assistants. This module enables drivers/carers to understand the role of the passenger assistant (PA).

Module B1: Passenger awareness and assistance :
This module covers awareness of passenger needs and how to assist, looking at individuals who don’t use a wheelchair.

Module B2: Assisting passengers who travel in wheelchairs :
B2 covers similar aspects to B1 but focuses specifically on passengers in wheelchairs.

Module C1: Supervising children and young people with special needs :
For PAs who work with children or young people with special needs.

Module C2: Working with adults who need care and supervision :
PAs who work with vulnerable adults.

Who is it aimed at?
Delegates may be paid staff or volunteers and they may be performing the dual role of driver/carer, but are specifically responsible for looking after passengers during transportation by road. This could include bus and minibus drivers, escorts, care workers, teachers, and taxi and private hire workers.

How long does the course take?
The course lasts between one and two full days depending on the number of modules chosen. We highly recommend that delegates undertake all PATS modules.

What do I get?
In addition to copies of the comprehensive course materials and handbook, those attending the course are also issued with a PATS Certificate.
